Pioneers Press is a publishing house and small-press distro focusing on survival and sustainability from the farm to the city, in addition to health, gender, sexuality, and a cruelty-free lifestyle. We release titles seasonally and work with domestic printers to use recycled paper and vegan bindings.
Pioneers Press is owned by Jessie Duke and was started by former Microcosm Publishing collective members. We operated temporarily under the name "Microcosm Distribution" but dropped the name as it gave the false impression that we were still associated in some way with Microcosm Publishing. We no longer carry any Microcosm Publishing titles or support the company or its owner in any way.

Here are the folks who work here:
Jessie Duke owns Pioneers Press and handles zine ordering and customer service out of our Lansing, Kansas office. When she's not at the office she's out at the Hard 50 Farm where she lives with a rag tag group of rescue animals including sheep, goats, and ducks! Contact her if you you're wondering where a package is, have questions about submitting your zine, or would like an internship in our Kansas office!
Adam Gnade does various Pioneers Press stuff, too numerous to mention. Adam also does a series of books and records with connecting plots and characters. You can find that here. He lives on the Hard 50 Farm in Kansas and is a big proponent of William Faulkner, sunflower butter, lake swimming, and Neutral Milk Hotel. He wants to tell you to "Go outside."
Matt Gauck does tons of freelance illustration and painting out of Portland along with much of our illustration and design work, too! He can most likely be found riding his bike stupidly long distances, and then writing zines about the resulting mishaps. He can walk on his hands better than every person he knows.
Rio Safari is a zinemaker and screenprinter who does a little bit of a lot out of Portland. You can check out his zines at Move! Dance! Create! and screenprinting at Counteract Collective.

Dylan GW advises the aging staff of Pioneers Press on the rapidly changing world of youth culture. He believes in ghosts, magic and UFOs, but seems pretty stable otherwise.
