Interstellar Bruja is Rios de la Luz's followup to her excellent Ladybox Books debut, The Pulse Between Dimensions and the Desert, a favorite here at the farm since its 2014 release. This new chapbook continues the lovely/quiet/smart/weird vibe of Pulse with a short batch of sci-fi-tinged realist stories about childhood and family, magic and running away. Rios' prose is full of shadows and vivid color. It moves and it feels true and real even when it's at its most strange and unusual. A flawless piece of work.
